ELIGIBILITY


The competition is primarily addressed to European SMEs who are using Open Source CMS technology. Early Adopters of IKS technology are eligible for entering the competition, but being an early adopter is not a prerequisite. Excluded from the competition are those firms which are partners of the IKS consortium. Also excluded are firms where an employee holds an office within IKS, e.g. in the advisory board. 

 


CONTEST PROCESS
  1. Submission, maximum 20 pages due 14th October 2011
  2. The Executive Board of IKS creates a ranking of the proposals based on their assessment against the criteria
  3. The ranked list is presented to our Advisory Board for their considered opinion
  4. After considering the views of the Advisory Board, a decision (Pre-selection) is made on the top-five proposals.
  5. The top five proposals are invited for a 10-minute "pitch" at the Janus Boye Conference in November 2011
  6. The final selection is made by votes of three judges and the audience at the Janus Boye Conference 
  7. The two winners receive the offer of a contract over 40.000 €, based on the winning proposal.
  8. The three runners-up receive the offer of a contract for 10.000 € each. To fund the mock-up/demo development of the submissions. 
  9. Contracts must be signed by end of 2011 after which implementation can start.
  10. first internal demo must be available 31/03 2012
  11. Implementation ends 30/06/2012, from then on, a public demo must be on-line that satisfies the contract
  12. public CVS/SubVersion/GitHub repository must be available under an open source permissivie license from the inception of the project for all winning projects and should include all materials related to the project including the code base and the documentation, this needs to include a downloadable binary package plus installation procedure.
  13. The implemented Demo-system must remain on-line at least until 30/06/2013.
