About Marcus Farr
Marcus has advanced degrees in Architecture, Urban Design and Fine Art. He received a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from Rice University graduating with a 4.00, as well as a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and a B.A. in Studio Art from Drury University (double major), with further studies at Syracuse University, the Accademia in Italy, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. His graduate thesis at Rice was published nationally and won the Rice Design Alliance Initiatives for Houston Award.
Professionally, Marcus has 10 years of experience working in architecture, urban design, and site specific landscapes throughout the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. Before establishing Trace Practices, he was a founder of COLAB and worked with noted architecture firms Carlos Jimenez, SOM, and as Senior Associate with the Urban Design / Landscape Architecture office, OJB, in Houston and San Diego. He is a LEED Accredited Professional with a Building Design + Construction (LEED AP BD+C) specialization.
Marcus is an Instructor in Architectural Studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder, teaching design studios in Architecture, Urban Design & Digital Fabrications.
